Mathematical description
Immersion of the real projective plane RP2 into R3 with self intersection. The model has 3 symmetries turned around 120 degrees. In 1984, J. Apery found three homogeneous polynomials of degree 4, such that the model describes the image of the map
f : RP2R3; f(x,y,z)=(f1,f2,f3).
