(28/11/12) Compatibility problems of smida with R versions of 2.10.0 or higher have been resolved.

The smida library depends on several other libraries (MASS, lars, class, cluster, mva, modreg [in R1.9 the package stats replaces both mva and modreg]) for its smooth operation. These libraries and R itself can either be downloaded below or directly from the R-webpage:
