Short bio

Kanat Camlibel is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Groningen, where he chairs the research group Systems, Control, and Optimization. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Tilburg University (2001) and both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Control and Computer Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (1991 and 1994). Prior to his current position, he served as an Assistant Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology and held postdoctoral positions at the University of Groningen and Tilburg University.

He has served as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, Systems & Control Letters, SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, and IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control. His research interests encompass a wide range of areas, including complementarity systems, piecewise affine dynamical systems, switched linear systems, constrained linear systems, multi-agent systems, hybrid systems, dynamical networks, model reduction, geometric theory of linear systems, and data-driven control.
